As a follow up to my last post, I’d like to continue to delve into how you can improve your financial fortune. When we face challenges – and we all do – we can overcome them if we allow our weaknesses to be exposed, our limitations to be identified, and our strengths to be magnified. Too often we focus on what’s gone wrong, on who we can blame for what’s gone wrong, or on what we can’t fix. What it really comes down to are individual choices. So, wouldn’t it be helpful to know what your choices are so you can focus on your possibilities?
First and foremost you need to set attainable goals – having clear objectives will allow you to remove the emotion from keeping the classic car your father gave you or keeping your home. Ask yourself where you want to be and how you can get there? With your goals clearly defined, you can begin to look at your options.
· Refinance your loans – you may be able to get additional credit or terms extended to help you meet your obligations
· Forbearance – you may be able to get a short-term postponement of your payments if you are experiencing a short-term hardship
· Modifications – depending on the severity of your hardship, you may be able to have your loan terms modified to give you a little breathing room
· Alternate Loans – you may be eligible for a Home Equity Loan, Title Collateral Loan, Share Secured Loan, Unsecured Signature Loan or Visa Balance Transfer
· Financial Counseling – there are several trusted agencies who are prepared to provide free counseling to help you better understand and correct your situation
· Financial Tools – there are many online tools that can assist you in creating a plan to get out of debt, one of these is called Debt in Focus, you can get to it from our website
· Financial Education – Rogue offers many educational opportunities to help you expand your knowledge and get you on the road to financial stability
· Consider other possibilities – often it is when we are forced out of our comfort zone that we are able to pursue life-long ambitions. Use this time as an opportunity to create the future you have always dreamed of, not the one you were relegated to by circumstance. Maybe going back to school is a possibility for you – even taking a class or two.
I hope that these suggestions prove to be helpful to folks facing financial woes. If you or someone you know have reached your limits, maybe its time to consider your possibilities. Remember that the staff at Rogue is ready to listen and take a thorough look at your individual situation to help find a solution for you and your family. Unfortunately, we are not always able to fix the problem or grant the desired outcome, but we will arm you with information needed to identify your options. If you need help now, I encourage you to contact us so we can get started at getting you back on the road to financial stability.
